So basicly, i started doodling, and i made some hound thing. I was quickly positively suprised by the way SAI handles the mixing of color. It was an entirely different way from the transparency layer style i was used to in Photoshop.



I decided i wanted to continue with this hound thing, so i drew him a rider and a companion. I thought maybe they were out in the forest hunting something.



But then, with reasons i have trouble understanding, yet remembering, i added a little girl on top of it all.



I soon decided that the hound rider was a king, and led his army against something terrible. Maybe this huge scaly lad behind them could be some henchman too.



I then extended the picture to make room for some breathing space, and maybe some tentacles or something horrible like that, which the king and his fellows were united against. 

After a while i decided to add yet another companion, and this one related to the girl- why the king of the humans of course!





What does it all lead up to? What are they united against?



So here is where things started blossoming for me. 



Who would have known, the rider king was a magician.







I struggled a lot with her expression.











I decided Mr.Scaly was the third king of the land, so i made his headpiece more like a crown.

King does not approve to this drama. And who is decapitating, tearing and burning all the stuffed animals?!



Boy, that henchman really looks sad for what they did to his green teddy.. monster.



I decided to extend the top cause i thought the picture needed some kind of a breathing zone. The human king took that space after all.

Somewhere around this last picture, i did a grave mistake while working. I started working in paint tool sai, and forgot that the 30-day trial had passed!! The program wouldn't let me save my work! I had to print screen the painting to be able to keep all the work i had done, and finish it in Photoshop X.x

And *drumroll* after some extra details and some playing around with the color balance, saturation..

Thus is how this fine-ass painting came to be xD Maybe i'll make another painting of them sometime, and hope they catch that stuffed animal burglar then!

After i finished this painting, i bought my copy of SAI with no hesitation. I really enjoyed working with it! There was really no compairing the software, photoshops mixer brush felt like a waste of effort in comparison. Things change though. Now i have heard the new Photoshop features better mixer brushes then its previous versions, so i should probably try that out aswell. But without doubt i reccomend SAI for anyone who wants to paint digital.
